05.06.2006
The 2005-2006 class of the Maryland Partners in Policymaking will hold
it's graduation ceremony at the Arc
of Montgomery County at 1pm.

05.19.2006 thru 05.21.2006
WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES Disabilities Expos will provide an
opportunity for thousands of attendees to explore a vast
array of products and services such as: assistive and
adaptive technology, durable medical equipment, computer
software, mobility products, living aids and more all
conveniently displayed to see, touch, and compare in a
"one-stop shopping" experience. This will give
individuals who do not typically have easy access
to comparison shopping a hands-on opportunity to
try devices and speak directly to equipment
representatives about the products, services
and resources.

11.8.2006 thru 11.11.2006
The
TASH Conference mobilizes vast numbers of folks from around the
world together in a common experience of belief in the presumed
competence of every person, and in the powerful role that every
person can play in empowering people with disabilities and their
families to build the life of their choosing.

Maryland Partners in Policymaking Class
of 2006 Disability Resource and Information Page
This website was created by members of the Maryland Partners in
Policymaking* Class of 2006. Coming in to the class they felt pretty
knowledgeable about disability issues, but soon learned there was a lot
of information they did not know. They thought it would be helpful to
others facing the challenges of disabilities to consolidate important
information they gathered through their personal experiences and the
Partners class in one place to assist others. This site is meant to
serve as a starting point with links to sites with more detailed
information.
Maryland Partners in Policymaking
Maryland Partners in
Policymaking is a year-long advocacy and
leadership training program for self-advocates and parents of children
with developmental disabilities. For more information go to: Maryland
Partners in Policymaking

The Project
Members of the class are encouraged to create a project. This web site
is the project of Rich Laufer, Chuck Masters, and Richard Sharp. We
hope to continue to add links to our web page as we go forward so that
we may share the information that we learn with you.
